Renovated and Sustainable Houses
– Houses with an average area of 65 square meters are being rehabilitated, including 2 rooms + hall + kitchen + bathroom, by:
1) Trellising the house: Installing the wooden roof and isolating it with an insulating layer of linoleum, then a cement layer with pebbles, with slopes and gutters for the roofs to give an opportunity for rain water to drain.
2) Installing door and window joinery.
3) Make internal plumbing connections as well as internal electrical connections.
4) In the absence of a bathroom and a kitchen, a place for the bathroom and kitchen shall be prepared.
5) A clamshell is made for the house (2 rooms – a hall – a bathroom – a kitchen – a distribution way), in addition to a cladding for the facade.
6) The house is painted from the inside and the front of the house.
7) Floor ceramics are made for the entire house.
8) Ceramics are made for kitchen and bathroom walls.
– 48,400 houses in 1,320 villages have been reconstructed and rehabilitated since work began, at a cost of EGP 924,992,950.
