The House of Zakat and Charities, under the supervision of the Grand Imam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, announced the receipt of 200,000 requests via its website, for monthly subsidies.
The House of Zakat and Charities stated, in a statement, Friday, that it will examine all cases in order to provide aid and subsidies to those entitled to zakat and alms, in accordance with the specific rules and regulations, which are consistent with the goals of the House by spending money in its legitimate banks.
The House of Zakat and Charity confirmed that once the examination and study of the cases that were submitted and the determination of the beneficiaries of the Zakat and alms funds are completed, the rules and controls for submitting new requests through the website will be announced at a later time.
The House of Zakat and Charity provides monthly subsidies that benefit about 500,000 people who meet the conditions, in addition to the House’s efforts to target deserving orphans and people of determination, facilitate the marriage of unable girls, and provide relief to those who have been exposed to disasters.
Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the House of Zakat and Charities, decided to double the monthly grant offered to those entitled to zakat and alms, on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.
The decision comes within the framework of the Zakat and Charity House’s keenness to support families in need of those who deserve zakat and alms to meet their needs with the advent of the month of Ramadan.
Under the decision of the Grand Imam, the family will receive double the monthly aid it spends from the House of Zakat and alms.
About half a million people who are eligible for zakat and alms cash support benefit from the House of Zakat and Alms program, distributed over all governorates of the Republic.
