Tekeya Elmahrosa
The program is developed to meet the nutritional needs of the unprivileged people, as it plays a vital role in improving the quality of life of people who suffer from economic and social difficulties in Egypt.
Through the Tekeya Program, the Egyptian Food Bank prepares and distributes daily hot meals to needy people through EFB-equipped kitchens which are managed by our partners across Egypt’s governorates.
Simply, the Tekeya is a place that provides food to poor and needy families daily throughout the year for free.
Program Target groups:
Single household Mother – Elderly – disabled – foreign students – passers-by
The Tekeya program is implemented in 16 governorates in Egypt:
Cairo – Giza – Beheira – Dakahlia – Gharbia – Menoufia – Sharkia – Kafr El-Sheikh – Fayoum – Beni Suef – Minya – Assiut – Sohag – Luxor – Aswan – Red Sea
The number of meals provided on a monthly basis is around 61,000 meals, serving daily 2,100 beneficiaries in the previously mentioned governorates.
